Art & Barrels
At Casa Coronel, we are proud of the colors and traditions of Mexico. Casa Coronel collaborated with talented Mexicans young artists that form part of the “Casa Coronel Art Collective”. These artists paint the motives of all 32 States of Mexico on white oak barrels that have been used in the aging process of Tequila.
The barrels represent a fusion between modern Mexican art and the great taste of Mezcal and Tequila.
This Collective is located in the Casa Coronel Hacienda in Mexico City. The collective receives the barrels from the Mezcal and Tequila centers (Zacatecas and Jalisco States) and elaborately paint every single piece. Every handmade barrel is unique and painted by hand using oil paints.
The painting process of one barrel takes more than two weeks. In Germany, you can already find more than 500 Casa Coronel barrels. The Casa Coronel travelling exhibition of artistic barrels can be seen in bars, restaurants, stores and hotels in Germany and Mexico.
